Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre South Dakota just agreed to enter trials with a custom checklist white board designed and produced by checklist boards with input from the surgical team at St. Mary’s. This is Checklist Boards first sale in South Dakota, and expands their client base to over 300 hospitals across North America. The checklist boards designed include a pre-surgery time out checklist with 14 sliders that are moved from red to green during the Patient Safety Time Out. Only once the entire board shows green does the procedure begin. The second board is a surgical sign out checklist, this must be completed prior to moving the patient to the PACU.
